JOB DESCRIPTION: DLG Media Holdings, a Philadelphia-based multi-media company, has an immediate opening for the position of Public Relations and Marketing Manager. We’re looking for an energetic, experienced professional to work with our talented and passionate team. We’re defining the next generation of content for our print and Web portfolios (including Philadelphia STYLE magazine, DCStyleMag.com, PhillyStyleMag.com, ACConfidential.com and the Philadelphia STYLE City Guide) and we’re searching for a candidate who can further our mission by promoting what we do best. Through our products, we deliver a dynamic mix of trend stories and enlightening features, as well as of-the-moment blogs and daily coverage of events vital to a number of East Coast communities.
We have an outstanding opportunity for a brand building media professional who is a strong leader and strategic thinker who excels in out-of-the-box thinking and business development. The manager will play a strong role in establishing strategic and tactical communication plans for DLG Media to capitalize on the power of its brand by invigorating our marketing efforts and through outreach to local and national media. The manager will also be instrumental in creating awareness, buzz and new brand extension opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be resourceful, self-motivated, comfortable with media pitches, and new projects. He or she will collaborate with a variety of the company’s departments to create, implement and evaluate successful public relations and marketing strategies for all titles and properties under DLG Media’s expanding umbrella.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee, direct and manage all aspects of the marketing chain—brand development, PR, advertising, promotional events, sponsorships, collateral, vendor relationships. • Establish contact with various members of local and national print, Web, TV and radio media. Create, edit and pitch press releases and story ideas to new and existing media contacts. ·Conduct market research across all platforms: print publications, online properties and promotional events • Interact daily with key editors and executive board members to develop integrated packages leveraging the various assets of DLG Media. Conceive ideas to promote and showcase new product lines, brand extensions and strategic partnerships. • Implement said campaign(s) to strategically disseminate information to generate awareness and buzz in the marketplace. • Assist departments in creating up-to-date marketing materials including media kits (printed and online), sell sheets, and strategic sales presentations • Work with the editorial department to establish a calendar of PR and media placement opportunities around editorial lineup and new launches • In collaboration with Sales, respond to RFPs and build proposals (this may be a bit much to ask) • Assist with event execution team • Manage a team of marketing, event and promotions interns
REQUIREMENTS:Candidates must have three (3) years of public relations and/or marketing experience, as well as strong relationships with regional and local media. Consumer and/or B2B experience required, and knowledge of the fashion, dining, travel, Web/technology sectors preferred. He or she also must have proven experience working with print and broadcast media to generate coverage. This position requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, polished, media savvy and smart; a real results-oriented self-starter and who possesses strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must be able to work independently (with little supervision) as well as within a team environment.

Position: Partnerships Coordinator Company: AfterCollege

The coordinator will play an instrumental role with our current partners and contribute to the growth of the partnerships group. Responsibilities: The person in this Coordinator role is responsible for assisting the partnerships group to ensure our partners get the best possible results for their clients/advertisers and that they ultimately continue their engagement with AfterCollege. The responsibilities of the Coordinator mainly include, but are not limited to:
- Partnership Interaction: As is implied in the responsibilities above, this role will require substantial partner interaction, especially with medium to large AfterCollege partners
- Analyze/ Research: Assist with researching statistics and general college recruiting trends.
- Assist in partner promotion communications.
- Coordinate partner promotions & incentives.
- Work with IT coordinator to resolve technical issues before alerting management team
- Partner Reporting: Assist the Partnerships Manager by gathering data on client campaign performance.
- Coordinate media updates: i.e. Logo, database information, etc.
- Spot check our partners' job postings on our websites
- Assist in copy writing and scheduling email blasts
- Assist with Network maintenance: This will require updating and maintaining our current network of contacts and compiling database info upon request
- Update Partner collateral: Flyers, PowerPoint presentations, and graphs
- Update and add Account and Contact info to Salesforce
- Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications
- Detail oriented, highly organized, able to work independently and possess the ability to handle high levels of multi tasking
- BS/BA Degree in Business, Communications or related
- Outstanding telephone skills as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be proficient using MS Office applications
- Knowledge of Salesforce.com contact management is helpful

Position: Production Manager Company: Ode Magazine
Ode Magazine, the international magazine for positive change is seeking a production manager to join our young U.S. company.
Ode Magazine was established in The Netherlands in 1995. The international, English-language edition team has just established a presence in the US with offices in Mill Valley, just north of San Francisco.
The Production Manager will report to the Creative Director, and plan and lead the production of this monthly magazine. S/he must be able to work quickly under tight deadlines and effectively interact with other departments to ensure the timely completion of editorial layouts and advertising assets to meet press deadlines. We’re looking for someone with a strong knowledge of art production and print production processes and a minimum of 2-4 years of magazine production experience.
A thorough knowledge of InDesign, Quark, PhotoShop, Illustrator and Microsoft Word is required (K2 is a plus). In addition, the Production Manager will:
• Deal with production scheduling and manage relationships with outside vendors (specifically printer, pre-press, photo agencies, and photographers),
• Gather all editorial images and assets from photo sources, coordinate timely receipt of ad materials from advertising department
• Work with advertising and circulation team
• Work closely with all departments, both in the U.S and The Netherlands
• Perform various special projects and office-related assignments
