WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE - EARLY BIRD SPECIAL
NINA LaFRANCE AWARDED EXCEPTIONAL WOMAN IN PUBLISHING--CIRCULATION MENTOR AWARDThea Selby, WIPP Board Member Circulation Mentor Recipient Nina La France Michelle Ingenito, Curtis Circulation
Nina LaFrance was this year's recipient of the Exceptional Woman in Publishing--Circulation Mentor Award. Thea Selby had the pleasure of presenting the award at the Wednesday night cocktail reception for ABC's annual conference in New York City. In a packed room, Thea first recounted Nina's career--coming full circle from working on American Heritage, a Forbes publication in her first job and ending at Forbes Media, where she now serves as Vice President of Consumer Marketing. She went over some of the reasons her colleagues had chosen her for this award. Qualities such as "open, a good listener, willing to give people a chance, supportive" were cited by three former employees, Joan Braunstein, now with Desert Media, Tosh Arimura, now at Science News, and Thea Selby, of Next Steps Marketing.
Nina spoke for a few minutes after the presentation of the award, and pictures were taken outside the reception as circulators from around the country continued their mingling.
